WordPool web game is an online game in which players apply their guessing skills to form words from a two different categories. This type of game has become very popular due to its simplicity and accessibility, as it can be played on any device with an internet connection. The game will have a database of words to choose from. In this case study, we will examine the design, development, and launch of WordPool.
The objective of this project was to create a user-friendly web game that would aid people in expanding their vocabulary. The target audience was identified as people aged 18 to 35 who enjoy word games and are looking for a fun and engaging online experience. Competitor analysis was conducted to understand the strengths and weaknesses of similar games in the market, and to identify areas for improvement. Also, word games are advantageous since they foster users intuitive growth.
Technically speaking, creating an online word game may be difficult and requires knowledge of many web development frameworks and languages. It might be difficult to ensure compatibility with various browsers and devices. Also, it was difficult to keep players interested in the game and to retain user engagement. If the game becomes too monotonous or challenging, players could lose interest soon. Also, it was challenging to avoid cheating in the technical aspects of the game, where players may utilise external tools or software to cheat or exploit the game, which might affect the game's fairness and decrease its appeal.
